Controlling Your Carbs
It's simple - just think of refined carbohydrates as the devil and the rest will fall into place. Simple carbs such as: white bread, bagels, muffins, donuts, sodas, candy, etc... will cause you to gain weight, feel tired, develop diabetes and the metabolic syndrome, and overall lead to all of the common diseases of aging.
Instead, focus on healthy proteins, vegetables, fruit, complex carbohydrates (but not too much), legumes, nuts, even healthy fats.
Enjoy: eggs, chicken, turkey, fish, pork, lamb, cheese (preferably low fat) and even red meat! Eat plenty of salads, fruit, berries, veggies, nuts, seeds, beans, trail mix and a reasonable amount of whole grains. If it's not made from refined carbohydrates (white flour/sugar) it probably won't make you fat or increase your risk of disease.
Basically, fewer carbs and a reduced caloric intake along with increased healthy proteins and lots of healthy fruits and vegetables and you're well on your way. For more on this topic read Weight-Loss Secret .
Eat right, exercise, have a positive mental attitude and supplement wisely…That’s how we'll age gracefully, together.
