Top 6 Healthy Habits for People Over 40

1) Exercise – shoot for at least 30 minutes most days of the week. Make sure to perform cardio, core and weight resistance exercise.
At least some of the time your effort should be intense.

2) Healthy Eating

a. Shoot for at least 5-7 servings of Fruits and Vegetables per day supplying lots of healthy phytonutrients
b. Eat Lots of Healthy Protein (fish, poultry, meat or veggie substitutes)
c. Consume Much fewer carbs such as junk food, bread products, pasta, rice, etc…
d. Don’t drink regular soda or fruit juice as they are full of sugar (Instead try drinking water or seltzer with lemon or lime)

3) The Big 3 Nutritional Supplements (these are 3 that one must take to cover the basic nutritional gaps in the American diet and lifestyle)

a. Take at least 1,000 mgs of Omega 3’s EPA and DHA from fish and/or krill oil per day (here are links to my favorites: EPA-DHA Omega-3 950mg,  Krill Omega-3Arctic Pure Krill Oil)
b. Take at least 2,000 IU’s of Vitamin D(click to order)  and if you live north of Atlanta take at least 5,000 IU’s of vitamin D from mid October through April due to lack of Vitamin D creation from the sun in the winter months.
c. Use a daily Green Drink to make up for your lack of fruit and vegetable intake if you consume less than 7-9 servings of fruits and vegetables per day (there are many good ones. I created Triple Greens  with Purity Products which I believe is the best one available).
