Vitamin D for Cancer Prevention?

http://www.webmd.com/cancer/news/20070905/vitamin-d-for-cancer-prevention?ecd=wnl_day_090707

The news on vitamin D just keeps on getting better and better.  For cancer protection, to promote strong bones and healthy blood pressure, to reduce autoimmune disease risk, for helping with muscle pain and weakness, even fall prevention, vitamin D may just be the hottest nutrient out there.  Click on the link above to see a Web MD article promoting the use of 2000IU of vitamin D3 per day to reduce cancer risk.

For these reasons as well as numerous others, the multivitamin that I take is Purity Products Perfect Multi Super Greens.  It has a full 2000 IU of vitamin D3, the same amount that researchers recommend, along with all the essential vitamins and minerals in a well thought out synergistic blend that is second to none.  It also weighs in at 5000 ORAC power for fighting free radicals.  In order to receive that kind of antioxidant punch in your diet you would have to eat approximately 8-10 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. Keep in mind that the top selling multivitamin has only 350 ORAC units and about 400 IU of vitamin D.

The Perfect Multi Super Greens also has plant extracts from: blueberries, cranberries, pomegranates, raspberries, green tea, spinach, garlic and citrus bioflavonoids to name a few.

Importantly, for men and postmenopausal women it has no iron.  If you fall into this group don’t take a multivitamin with iron unless your doctor has diagnosed you as anemic.  Exercise, eat right, maintain a positive mental attitude, and supplement wisely; that’s how we’ll age gracefully together.
